021: How Much Does Video Cost?

I thought I’d hit the ground running for all you listening who’re planning to do video as part of your New Years Resolution, because the cost of video may be putting you off. Or at least giving you second, third or maybe fourth thoughts. So I thought I’d address something I see come up quite a lot: the cost of video.

016: Why Your Videos Suck

Let’s chat about something everyone worries about, why your videos suck. I know, I’m hitting you where you hurt today, but I promise it’s all going to be okay.

What no one really tells you is that your videos are supposed to suck when you first start out. Everyone’s do, and you’re no different. This isn’t likely to be one of those things where you’re magically good at it on the first try, and if you are one of those people where a lot of things are magically easy for you then this is going to be a shock to the system. But I want you to understand that just because your videos suck, that doesn’t mean they’ll always suck.

012: 5 Questions To Ask Before Pressing Record

This episode is dedicated to all of you who want your videos to actually do something for your business, rather than just be a tick-box exercise in content creation where you’re really just slinging spaghetti at the wall.

Now, don’t get me wrong, the seeing what sticks technique is tried and tested by 99% of us online biz owners, myself included. But there is a slightly better way to do things that may reduce some of the frustration.

While strategy isn’t in my wheelhouse as such, the process of creating video content very much is, so I’m going to share with you the 5 questions you should be asking yourself before you press record to help make your videos work for you, instead of the other way around.

006: What To Video

This week I want to chat about what to video, because … well, in the interests of transparency, because I’ve been struggling to figure this out myself and I thought I’d work my way through a process and, why not, at the same time help you!

Knowing what to video is something I get asked a lot, but before I dive in I want to make it very clear that I am not a strategist. That’s not my idea of fun. Fun is in the delivery of the content, and how it’s edited together for me. Fun is in the experimentation.

But you can’t do any of that if you don’t have a topic to start from, which is why you’re getting a podcast episode on what to video. I don’t think this is going to be a particularly long episode, but hopefully it’ll be helpful!

003: Are Your Videos Undermining Your Expertise?

Today I wanna talk about the shit people do in their videos that actually undermines their expertise, because if you want your videos to reflect the level of professionalism you bring to every other part of your business, then you need to make sure your videos aren’t taking you out at the knees without you realising it.
